Highland Housing Alliance Announces New Chief Executive Officer

The Highland Housing Alliance has announced the appointment of Gail Matheson as its Chief Executive with immediate effect.
With a career in Quanity Surveying spanning 13 years Gail was born and raised in Inverness. She studied Quantity Surveying at Napier University and after 13 years in the private sector, she joined Highland Housing Alliance in 2006 as a Development Officer. She stepped into the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Highland Housing Alliance in October 2012.

Gail Matheson, CEO of the Highland Housing Alliance comments, 'I am honoured and delighted to accept the appointment. I will be responsible for ensuring that the Alliance continues to develop the funding partnerships needed to secure future housing in the Highlands. HHA will continue to look at ways in which they can increase the housing supply in the Highlands for both rent and sale together with their partners in these challenging times.'
Since 2006 HHA has developed houses for sale, self build plots, serviced sites for developers and more recently, houses for mid-market rent under the National Housing Trust initiative. The NHT scheme has seen 48 houses delivered to date with a further 12 to be completed at Ardersier in February as well as a further 60 in Inverness and Kiltarlity which will see the first phases completed next year. HHA has delivered over 150 houses since 2006 along with self build plots, and will be delivering a further 105 in the next 18 months.
